Summary about the Special Issue:
In this Special Issue, the journal particularly welcomes work in the area of Chemistry of Functional Nanomaterials: Synthesis, Characterization, and Applications. To date, synthesis of the nanomaterials with controlled size, morphology, and crystal phase is of utmost significance to fine-tune the physico-chemical properties for widespread applications in the arena of materials science and nanotechnology. This includes selective chemical transformation, dye-sensitized solar cells, photocatalysis, green hydrogen production, CO2 reduction, supercapacitors, lithium batteries, catalysis, sensors, environmental decontamination, energy storage and harvesting, generation of bioactive materials, and so forth. However, the development of nanomaterials with well-defined morphology using a facile, scalable, low-cost, and environment-friendly approach continues to be a grand challenge at the present time.
In this Special Issue, Sultan Qaboos University Journal for Science (SQUJS) will provide worldwide researchers, scientists, and experts to discuss their most recent findings and knowledge. The aim of this Special Issue is to highlight significant contributions made by leading researchers in the emerging field of nanomaterials. We invite the submission of original research articles and review articles which will focus on the design, synthesis, modification, characterizations, and modeling of nanomaterials as well as their versatile applications for sustainable development. The issue will focus on the design, synthesis, and modeling of nanomaterials, as well as their potential applications.
Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Novel methods and various techniques for synthesis of nanomaterials.
- Functionalization of nanomaterials and nanocomposites with intrinsic properties.
- Characterization of nanomaterials with various advanced analytical techniques.
- Engineering size-, phase- and morphology-dependent properties of nanosphericals, nanotubes, nanowires, nanosheets and quantum dots.
- Nanomaterials for harvesting solar-energy for environmental remediation.
- Nanomaterials for clean energy and environmental applications.
- Nanomaterials for chemical and catalytic applications.
- Nanomaterials for sensing, electronic and magnetic applications.
- Nanostructured materials for medical and biological applications.
- Nanomaterials for drug delivery.
