About This Journal
The Sultan Qaboos University Journal for Science (SQUJS) is an international, peer-reviewed Open Access journal dedicated to disseminating major advances in fundamental and applied sciences. The journal covers a broad spectrum of scientific disciplines, including biology, chemistry, earth sciences, computer science, mathematics, physics, and statistics, with a special interest in applied studies relevant to the region.
Article Types
To foster comprehensive scientific discourse, SQUJS welcomes a diverse range of contributions, including Original Research Articles, Reviews, Mini Reviews, Rapid Communications, Perspectives, and Case Studies.
Open Access & Fees (Diamond Model)
SQUJS operates under a Diamond Open Access publishing model. All published articles are immediately and permanently free to access, download, and share online under a the Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-ND 4.0) license license. There are absolutely no Article Processing Charges (APCs), submission fees, or hidden costs for authors.
Publication Ethics
The journal is committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity in scholarly publishing and strictly adheres to the Core Practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Journal History
The journal originated as Sultan Qaboos University Journal for Scientific Research – Science and Technology, which was first published in 1996. The journal adopted its current name, Sultan Qaboos University Journal for Science (SQUJS), in 2003 and released its first issue under this title in 2004.
To maximize the global reach and impact of its published research, SQUJS transitioned to a fully Open Access publishing model in 2016. Today, the journal serves an international community of authors and readers. To ensure high discoverability and compliance with international publishing standards, SQUJS is formally abstracted and indexed in recognized databases, including the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), EBSCO, J-Gate, Google Scholar, ALMANHAL, and Crossref.
