History of the Publisher

The Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) Academic Publication Board (APB) was established in 2001 to oversee scholarly publishing at the University, aligning with SQU's vision to advance research excellence and global knowledge dissemination. The APB develops publishing policies, standardizes the peer-review processes, and ensures compliance with international ethical standards, strengthening the quality, integrity, and visibility of all academic journals published by SQU.

Journal History

The journal has its origin in the SQU's former Journal for Scientific Research – Science and Technology, which was first published in 1996. The journal name was changed to SQU Journal for Science (SQUJS) in 2003; the journal with the new name was first published in 2004. The journal was first published in an open access format in 2016. It is indexed by several international databases, attracting an increasing number of papers from international researchers.
